How many tractors?

Considering a second tractor for light duties, probably small (very), maybe with a loader and it got me wondering how many tractors folk run/own? Would be interesting to see proportion of those actively used or classics for show and if number of tractors directly relates to farm size - let us know i...

A/C bottle cooler straps

Hi there, Slightly random question but has anyone replaced the straps for holding a bottle in the the air con cooled compartment in their tractor? Mine are perished and I've got no idea of a part number (even if I wanted to pay through the nose for replacements;-)) There's lots about online but not ...

Re: Worshop manuals

Cool. There's a few on here with 155 series tractor, so hopefully someone can provide the part no!

Out of interest, do you know how far back to Claas go with Renault parts?

Re: Worshop manuals

Ah, interesting. Are you able to source all the old docs through Claas with the old part numbers?

I was in contact with them about old docs/brochures/manuals etc. but they said that a French enthusiast group now owned all the rights, so I couldn't reproduce stuff here. Does that sound right to you?

Re: What's yours called?

There's a contact page on their website: http://www.classictractormagazine.co.uk/?page_id=137 Would be great to see your progress here though, maybe you could refer them to a post on this site? It's always good encouragement when you see pictures of tidied up tractors. I'm slowly trying to stop thin...

Re: What's yours called?

Sounds like a cool project. Good luck with it, hope you take plenty of pics!

Keep us updated with progress; would make a welcome change from all the Massey/JD restorations in Classic Tractor etc. (not that there's anything wrong with those brands but it's always the same :? ).

Re: Worshop manuals

Hi Restoration and welcome to the forum :) Unfortunately, it would be a very rich man who had photocopies of the manual/workshop manual available! :D :( You do get the odd one on eBay now and again on disc but probably a little left of middle legally ;) I managed to source one for my Ares and it's v...

Re: Renault 551-4S user/service manual

Hi Lothar and welcome to the forum :) Unfortunately, manuals are very hard to come by. An enthusiast group in France now owns all the copyright to Renault Agriculture literature and are reluctant to give access. That said, there have been print runs of some manuals which you'll find on eBay but they...

Re: German1466 says hello to the Renault community

Hi Andreas and welcome to the forum! :) Wow, everyone always talks about the old MWM engines being bullet proof but 22000hrs is mighty impressive  Is your IH 1466 standard or have you made some modifications for the tractor pulling? Likewise on the 6 pot front...I've currently got a baby 4-cy...

Re: Renault 620 RZ user manual

Hi there, Unfortunately, it's not possible to access the historical docs, all copyright has passed to an enthusiast group in France. Reprints were done of a couple of models and are sold on eBay but are prohibitively expensive. I can't imagine many have been sold, which has probably dampened the ent...

Hi Rob and welcome to the forum:-)

Even if it doesn't sound like a metal to metal noise, they may be worn...having said that, not sure what kind of brakes your tractor has!

Re: Looking for a particular part?

Hi there and welcome to the forum:-)

Not sure about the cab keys but they're all a bit of a fake nod to security IMHO! Don't think you're tractor is any more likely to be stolen with an unlocked cab with no key in the ignition (though, to be fair, this won't exactly stop a determined thief either!).

Hi Merlot and welcome to the forum :)

Not sure from your post if you're having difficulties with the knotter or the needles not tripping?

Is the tension in the twine feed equal?

Re: Instrument panel now showing

Hi Rich and welcome to the forum :) It could well be something simple like a fuse. Does anything else work on the dashboard (eg. warning lights)? Think it's likely that there'd be one fuse for the whole dashboard, so if you have other lights, maybe not (still worth checking for any blown ones though...

Hi Chunk and welcome to the forum :) I'm afraid I don't have any specific knowledge of the gearbox in your tractor. Are you thinking something's worn, broken or jammed? My Ares sometimes gets stuck in neutral but a combination of rocking with handbrake off and restarting seems to resolve (electronic...

I'm not aware of any special bleeding procedure on this tractor but hopefully someone else can fill us in if there is!

Definitely no further loss of fluid? Though seems unlikely if the pressure remains once built up. Is it the same if you use the brakes separately?

Oh, and welcome to the forum by the way! :)

Unfortunately, they have refused permission to distribute the English versions here, which is a bit frustrating. Some have reported that...
