German1466 says hello to the Renault community

Postby German1466 » Wed Sep 02, 2015 7:44 pm

Hello everybody my name is Andreas I'm 28 years and I live near the Claas headquaters in Germany

The Renault who brought me here is a 90-34 mx with over 22000h on the clock.
This tractor is still in use every day to feed the bull on my buddys farm.

I'm was more or less a IH fanboy in the past and that's why I own a US build 1466 at the moment.
But it is 2wd and open station so it has no real use other than do some tractor pulling.

I'd like to buy a big 6 pot Renault in the future

Hi Andreas and welcome to the forum! :)

Wow, everyone always talks about the old MWM engines being bullet proof but 22000hrs is mighty impressive

Is your IH 1466 standard or have you made some modifications for the tractor pulling?

Likewise on the 6 pot front...I've currently got a baby 4-cyl Ares, hoping to add a larger 6-cyl version at some point...they're not hugely available on the used market over here though, so may have to cross the channel to source one at some point.

Hello again

If you don't abuse and proper maintain the old mwm 20000 h are no problem
My buddys 90-34 is enginewise on it's last leg it started to smoke and uses oil for the Last 2500 to 3000 h
And there are other parts who start to show wear like the power steering for example.
You have to turn the steering wheel slowly all the time to drive straight.

My 1466 is stock exept for the pulling drawbar, stabilizer bars and I modified the fuel pump
Should be around 250hp now
